I’ve always loved stories—especially the kind you find folded into a used book, scribbled in the margins, or tucked between the pages on a long-forgotten sticky note. Books have been my passion for as long as I can remember.
That love led me to earn a degree in English, even though I had no idea what I was going to do with it. I became a teacher, hoping to pass along my love of literature to my students. Some of them got it. Some of them didn’t. But that love of words, stories, and the way books make me feel? It never went away.
I’ve been called a book hoarder more times than I can count—and they’re not wrong. Ask my parents. Every time I moved, I brought boxes and boxes of heavy books, and yes, they groaned every time they had to help load them up.
But I can’t help it—books are memory-keepers. My favorite is when I find an inscription inside: notes of congratulations, declarations of love, inside jokes, even heartfelt goodbyes. Those little messages turn an ordinary paperback into a time capsule.
I never travel without stopping at at least one used bookshop, and I always bring something home. To me, a worn-out copy of a book is the best kind of souvenir.
Lost & Bound grew out of all of that: a lifelong collection, a passion for stories, a belief that books deserve second chances—and so do we.
This bookstore (and soon-to-be soda shop!) is a love letter to community, creativity, and small magic. Whether you’re browsing online, sipping something fizzy at a future pop-up, or just stopping by to say hi—I’m so glad you’re here.
Thanks for being part of the story.
Until the next chapter,
– Lyndsey, Founder of Lost & Bound
